The Toledo Symphony will use music to bring awareness to social justice issues impacting our community by exploring pain, love, sacrifice, determination, and hope for a brighter future through music.
Throughout the 2021-2022 season, the Toledo Symphony will use music to bring awareness to social justice issues impacting our community. The ProMedica Masterworks concert titled Epic Journeys features three pieces which depict journeys over treacherous waters and the search for liberation. Join Toledo Symphony musicians Lauraine Carpenter and Merwin Siu as they discuss the real life and fictional stories that are portrayed through the music of composers Errollyn Wallen, Kareem Roustom and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. After this deep dive into the music, you will be ready to attend the TSO concert and hear Syrian-American clarinetist Kinan Azmeh lead a musical expedition which explores pain, love, sacrifice, determination, and hope for a brighter future. All attendees will receive complimentary access to the TSO concert on November 5, 2021, based on availability.
