Meeting Room 1 (Large Glass)

Is your organization prepared for a change in leadership? Learn how to minimize the impact and plan for when turnover happens at the highest level.

Join us in this interactive workshop to proactively shape the future of your organization and bridge critical leadership gaps in staff or board members. Together, we’ll ensure that your organization thrives amidst transitions and continues to thrive well into the future.

Earn Credits: HRCI/SHRM credits will be available.

You will learn to:

  • Identify core competencies needed for the future that align with strategic organizational goals;
  • Assess your organization’s current talent to identify skills gaps; and,
  • Identify training, development, mentoring, coaching and other experiences essential to prepare potential candidates.

Every nonprofit organization should have a form of succession planning in its portfolio as it is not the expected absences that can weaken organizations, but the unexpected ones. Therefore, having a robust succession plan in place is crucial for sustainability.

Succession Planning is the difference between keeping key talent in the pipeline and mere replacement planning. How you prepare people to take on the responsibilities of leadership so that the organization thrives in the transition is just as important as picking the right person for the job or volunteer position.
