Therapeutic Artmaking with Salt Art
Thursday, October 10
6:00pm - 8:00pm
Main Library
Creativity Lab (Children's Library), 2nd FloorA therapeutic, relaxing, and engaging workshop facilitated by Art Therapist, Kayt Harden, LLC. All materials provided.
We will be creating “Salt Art” using glue, salt, and watercolor on heavy watercolor paper. In this session, you will start by drawing an image with glue on watercolor paper. Once your design is complete, you'll sprinkle salt over the glue, allowing it to adhere and create a textured surface. After the glue and salt have set, you'll apply watercolor, watching as the paint spreads and reacts with the salt to create mesmerizing patterns and vibrant, unique effects.
This workshop is designed to encourage self-expression and relaxation as you explore the unique textures and vibrant effects created by the interaction of salt and watercolor. Guided by a professional art therapist, you will explore this fascinating process that not only results in beautiful artwork but also provides a soothing and satisfying creative outlet.
Perfect for all skill levels, this group offers a wonderful way to express yourself, relieve stress, and connect with others in a supportive and creative environment. Come and discover the joy of transforming simple materials into beautiful, meaningful art
