This workshop will introduce participants to an overview of freelance and publishing opportunities for micro fictions in the Romance genre. Generative writing activities and an interactive discussion of the publishing market for Flash Fiction will be covered. Get inspired with this short and sweet take on Romance.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Melanie Dusseau teaches Creative Writing at The University of Findlay where she teaches courses in Poetry and Writing Contemporary Romance. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from SIUC and is the author of a poetry collection, The Body Tries Again. A native Toledoan, she has published poems in various journals and sold several “5-Minute Romances” to Woman’s World magazine. When she doesn’t have her nose in a romance book, she is hard at work on a chapbook of poetry about mythological, historical, and contemporary redheads, as well as her first novel, a spicy, supernatural romance. Sensory Considerations: This program will use artificial lighting. All speakers will use microphones.
