Disability Download is an all encompassing training that provides content and strategies for interacting with and providing services for individuals with disabilities to implement in all spaces.
The workshop will begin with an overview of various disabilities, as well as the three major disability laws. The training will focus on current best practices and guidelines to consider when interacting with people with disabilities and creating universally accessible spaces, programs and services.
This event is part of Better Toledo, a personal and professional development series to ensure “you will do better in Toledo.”
Certificates of completion are available to participants who take part in three or more sessions in 2025.

Dawn has served more than 20 years in the field with experience in education as a special education teacher, an early intervention specialist, a developmental therapist and a principal and special education supervisor. She has also served as a director in the nonprofit sector of the disability community. Dawn began her consulting firm, CAIRE, LLC (Community Access Inclusion Representation and Equity), in 2022.
Dawn attended Miami University and received her Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, early intervention, and special education. She then received her Master's degree in Education from Marygrove College.
Dawn works with local community organizations, businesses and schools who have a vested interest in accessibility and inclusion, specifically for people with disabilities. She specializes in accessibility audits, consultative services, training opportunities, speaking engagements, and assistance in event planning. Dawn saw the opportunity to educate the community and bring awareness of the disability community to businesses and organizations that have a desire to provide universally accessible programs, services, and employment opportunities
Dawn's company, CAIRE, LLC is a recipient of the 2023 Toledo Community Votes award for best Community Organization. In 2023, Dawn published a coloring book called The Inclusion Conclusion: How to Discuss Disabilities. It has been distributed across 13 states. In 2024, Dawn wrote, directed and co-produced a training video, Disability Download: The Human Perspective.
Dawn is a member of the Human Relations Commission, the Lott-Conlon Foundation board, and a founding member of the DEAI ALLiance of Northwest Ohio.
