In today’s fast-paced work environments, practicing civility—through respect and kindness—is essential for a positive, productive, and inclusive workplace.

This workshop focuses on understanding and fostering civility, covering how respect and kindness influence relationships, job satisfaction, and organizational success. Through engaging activities, discussion, and video resources, participants will learn practical strategies to enhance respect and kindness within their teams. By the end, each participant will create a personal action plan to promote civility in their workplace.

 Learning Objectives:

  • Define civility in the workplace and recognize its impact on team dynamics and morale
  • Identify behaviors that demonstrate respect and kindness
  • Explore strategies to promote civility within teams, including active listening and empathy
  • Develop a personal action plan to practice civility daily

Sheila Eason is founder and CEO of Elevate People Solutions, LLC, a leadership and personal development consultancy. She provides workshops and training in the areas of leadership and personal development, and diversity and inclusion. Her areas of expertise include developing and implementing HR and D&I strategies, training and development, strategic planning, executive coaching, and leadership development. Her clients include small businesses and nonprofits, government agencies, universities and healthcare organizations.

This event is presented by Elevate People Solutions, LLC. It is part of Better Toledo, a personal and professional development series to ensure “you will do better in Toledo.” Certificates of completion are available to participants who take part in three or more sessions in 2025.
