Freshwater is a portrait of remembrance, of flooded Midwestern basements and maintaining connection in the wake of ongoing displacement, abandonment and climate catastrophe. The experimental video is written and directed by the artist dream hampton.
Art Tatum was one of the greatest improvisational musicians in the history of jazz and is heralded for his artistic vision and technical ability. The Art Tatum African American Resource Center is dedicated space to provide educational and historical information on African American cultural heritage and experiences. Through books, other materials, public programs, and art exhibits, the Resource Center recognizes and celebrates the lived experiences of African Americans. It is located within the Kent Branch and is open to visitors during Library hours.
