A European Summer: Chamber Music from Prague to Ohio

A Performance by Trio Mente

Join us for an evening of evocative chamber music performed by a dynamic trio of international artists- violinist Dan Qiao, clarinetist Jaroslav Škuta, and pianist Meng Yuan.

This transatlantic program celebrates the warmth, lyricism, and intimacy of classical music, featuring beloved works by European and Czech composers alongside pieces by living composers from Ohio. Spanning romantic masterpieces and colorful 20th-century selections, the program is curated to highlight the expressive possibilities of the clarinet-violin-piano trio. From the lyrical charm of Central Europe to the vibrant energy of American concert life, this recital invites audiences on a musical journey that bridges continents and cultures. Whether you're a seasoned concertgoer or new to chamber music, this summer performance promises a rich and inspiring experience.

Trio Mente is a dynamic chamber ensemble uniting three international artists- Violinist Dan Qiao, praised for her charismatic performances and expressive nuance, has performed at major venues including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Clarinetist Jaroslav Škuta, a noted interpreter of both classical and contemporary repertoire, is a member of the North Czech Theatre of Opera and Ballet and an active soloist and educator. Pianist Meng Yuan, a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, is an accomplished soloist and collaborator, equally at home on modern and historical keyboards.

Together, Trio Mente explores the rich and diverse repertoire for clarinet, violin, and piano with technical precision and artistic insight. Drawing on their extensive international experience as soloists and chamber musicians, the trio brings a distinctive voice to both classic and contemporary works. Their performances reflect a shared commitment to excellence and communication, engaging audiences in concert halls and festivals across Europe, North America, and Asia. With a name that echoes the word “mind” in several languages, Trio Mente embodies a devotion to thoughtful interpretation and meaningful collaboration - an ensemble where intellect meets emotion, and tradition meets imagination.
