Studio Lab Making Lab

Before your 3D model can be printed it needs to be “Sliced” and prepared for the printer. In this session we will look at the Prusa Slicer and the PreForm Slicer programs and their features.

When the library Making department receives 3D print requests, they process them with this software and you can follow along with the steps it takes to print these items. You’ll gain a greater understanding of all the factors that go into determining what is necessary to print any given item at the library and what to expect from the final result. Both the Prusa Slicer and PreForm are free softwares available to download from the manufacture. We will explore how different minor changes can create big differences in results.
