About the book
The Fortune Tellers of Rue Daru is Olesya Salnikova Gilmore's latest novel that transports readers to the bustling Russian émigré community in 1920s Paris. It centers on spirited twenty-something Zina and her secretive grandmother, Baba Valya, who run a tearoom on rue Daru. By day, they serve tea, but by night, they divine fortunes and perform séances. When the charming Princess Olga and her brother arrive, searching for answers about their father, the Grand Duke (a cousin to the murdered last Tsar of Russia), Zina performs a séance. To her horror, the Grand Duke's spirit is summoned and begins to haunt the shop, revealing a sinister connection to Zina's mother's untimely death. As Zina delves into her family’s hidden past, dark secrets are unearthed, threatening their home, tearoom, found family, and their very lives.
