Toledo Lucas County Public Library welcomes all to our concert series, Live at the Library, a series featuring international musical talent. This October, we welcome Redd & The Paper Flowers.
Redd and The Paper Flowers is a Knoxville, Tennessee band redefining what folk music can feel like. Blending Appalachian folk, jazz, and bluegrass into a genre they've coined "Living Room Folk," the group made up of Redd Daugherty (guitar, vocals), Gavin Gregg (mandolin, vocals), Katie Adams (upright bass, vocals), and Colleen d'Alelio (cello, vocals)—creates the kind of warm, intimate sound that makes a packed room feel like a cozy night in with old friends.
The band's story is as compelling as their music. Their acclaimed debut album, Appalachian Bell Jar, released in May 2025, is a heartfelt testament to East Tennessee and the beauty and struggles of Appalachia, drawing on the group's own experiences of loss, resilience, and community. That authenticity comes through in every performance, as their tight harmonies and rich instrumentation pull listeners in and hold them close. With a sophomore album, Dead Little Thing, already in the works for a fall 2026 release, this is a band on the rise. This is your chance to watch them before the rest of the country catches on.
