The Lincoln Highway is a 2021 historical fiction novel by American author Amor Towles. Set in June 1954, it follows 18-year-old Emmett Watson as he returns to Nebraska after serving time in a juvenile work farm, planning to head west to California with his young brother. Instead, two friends stow away and divert them on an unexpected journey east to New York City
