This workshop is open to individuals who participated in either of the previously offered “Write. Now!” writing series’.
Over the course of this program, we will work together to assemble and produce a short collection of work from “Write. Now!” writers. The program will culminate in a public reading from the authors included in the book. The reading will be made available to the TLCPL community.
To ensure that this project will have the participants it needs, please plan to attend all scheduled sessions. While we will strive to complete the bulk of the work for this project within the set meeting times, some roles may require an additional time commitment outside of the sessions.
Session One: During our first session, we will meet as a group to organize and prepare. We’ll determine project assignments, select a vendor, finalize our budget, and prepare documents for the remainder of the project (contracts, etc.).
Session Two: In this session, we’ll sort, rate, and read submissions for inclusion in the final book.
Session Three: This session will allow us to finalize submissions and assemble contracts for the included submissions. We’ll also begin layout work on the project.
Session Four: Our goal for this session will be to finalize the layout of the book.
Session Five: If any additional layout work is needed, this session will allow us to wrap up. We will prep for the reading, including arranging the agenda/reading order.
Session Six: This meeting will allow us to review the proof and make any needed adjustments. We’ll also hold practice sessions before the public reading.
