Discover “Art Through Our Eyes,” a February exhibit celebrating low-vision artists. View stunning works and hear each artist's story through accessible features in the gallery.

February marks Low Vision Awareness Month, a time to celebrate and support individuals who are blind or visually impaired. In honor of this, the library art gallery is proud to partner with the Sight Center of Northwest Ohio, an organization that has provided vital services to those with vision loss for over a century. Together, we present “Art Through Our Eyes: A Low Vision Perspective,” an exhibition that showcases the creativity and resilience of artists with low vision.

The exhibit features remarkable artwork created by individuals who use their talents to express their unique perspectives through visual art. Each piece tells a story of perseverance, technique, and passion.

Featured artists include:

  • Jeannine Dailey (1961-2021)
  • Deonte Munn
  • Mike Sager
  • Rick Fravor
  • Dave Wisniewski
  • Kathy Villa Hanneman

Accessibility Features:

To ensure an inclusive experience, the gallery has made special accommodations:

·         QR Codes: Scan the codes to hear each artist describe their work.

·         Art Height: Pieces are hung lower to accommodate viewers in wheelchairs.

·         Video Demonstrations: Watch the artists speak about their creative journeys and inspirations on the gallery’s video screen.

Panel Discussion:

As part of this special event, the exhibition will include a panel discussion featuring some of the artists. They will share their stories, creative processes, and the challenges they’ve overcome as artists with low vision.

Join us this February as we celebrate the talents and stories of these incredible artists. Through their work and words, we hope to inspire all individuals, especially those with vision impairments, to pursue their passions.
