In partnership with WGTE and Ohio Learns 360, we welcome award-winning nature photographer and author of Curious Critters, David FitzSimmons. Books will be available for sale following the program.
An Ohio native, DavidFitzSimmons, is an award-winning photographer and author. His great passion is connecting children and their families to nature through reading and photography. He has shared his work in the Children & Nature movement in Northwest Ohio over the past ten years and has taken some of his photographs at the Toledo Zoo, Nature’s Nursery, and BGSU. His background as a high school English teacher and college professor of language arts education makes him uniquely qualified to create engaging picture books for students and address literacy with their teachers and parents. His book Curious Critters, which has won five national book awards, was included in the "Wild for Ohio" Ohio Learns 360 Camp-in-a-Box.
